Paoli Public School, located in Paoli, Oklahoma, was severely damaged campus-wide by a spring Oklahoma hail storm. They were guaranteed to need a new school roof. Paoli Public Schools is located just east of Interstate 35 at exit 79 which is approximately 30 miles south of Norman, OK, and 150 miles north of Dallas, TX. It is located eight miles North of Pauls Valley, the county seat, on U.S. Highway 77. Paoli worked with their insurance company and insurance adjuster and once their commercial roofing claim was resolved, we were able to replace the roofs within weeks of the storm.
School Storm Damage
Due to a large hail storm, Paoli Public School not only noticed extensive roof damage but they were experiencing many roof leaks in their buildings. Roof leaks disrupt normal day-to-day operations of the school, students and staff. The worst of all the roofs was the gymnasium dome roof which is a unique and historical type of roof. Roofing Systems
Virtually every type of roofing system was utilized in this project. Everything from foam roofs, to metal roofs, to TPO roofs on this school re-roofing project was used. Many of the buildings needed a complete re-deck to ensure the new roofing system would be installed properly and be long-lasting for the school. The gymnasium was fully replaced with a brand new foam roof. Spray foam has an insane amount of insulation to it – it is the highest R-value per inch of any roofing material available. It allows for much less heating and cooling to escape your building. The high school foam roof was upgraded to durable TPO system with special details for complex roof penetrations. Insulation was added where necessary to increase the energy efficiency of the buildings. The rest of the campus received replacement of all R-Panel roofs.
Jobsite Coordination
We worked closely with Paoli Superintendent, David Morris, throughout the entire project. We analyzed the entire property and developed a plan to complete the project in a timely fashion with as little disruption to the school and students as possible. Each school project has dedicated management on-site to supervise, coordinate operations, and ensure that the school’s normal schedule is maintained. On-site, our materials and equipment are always kept fenced off and locked to ensure the materials for the job are kept secure and that they are safely out of the school’s way. We take note of aspects like landscaping, playgrounds, parent/child pickup and drop off zones, bus loading zones and more.
